Stunty Weekly Review #17

A little bit later than advertised, I bring you the Weekly Review once again.  Or in this case, the Bi-Monthly review...

When Cannon's Fade - Painting Tomb King Skeletons
With the recent release of this army we have seen more posts about them pop up over the Fantasy Blogs, this one really caught my eye.  A quick way of painting those plain old skellies, as the post says "max results for minimum effort".  Can't argue with that.

The Bovine Overlord - Ungor Herd Completed
Another great post from this blog, showing how an unusual colour scheme can stand out well.  It is great to see such a number of the hairy-backed fellows, and with some really well done conversions thrown in for flavour.

Crosser Modelling - Cheap Greatswords
I am sure that every gamer has come across this before, needing 20 models but only getting 16 in a box (or something like that).  This post shows how you can be creative and with a little bit of work, as well as some thought, you can make your own models to match.  I love the conversions here, they don't look out of place at all.

Rhellion's Tabletop - Army Power Rankings
Now for something a little different.  This post is Rhellion's thoughts on where the Fantasy armies rank in terms of power, along with a little blurb as to why he believes this is so.  Do you agree, or not?  Go let him know your thoughts!

Random Digressions Wargamer - Necropolis Knights
Not long after they come out we see some great work on these models.  And taking a different approach, why not add lizards instead?  Why not indeed, for these look great and unique!

The Fields of Blood - Tournament Competitveness
This is actually broken down into four parts, the link is for part 1, and here are the other: part 2, part 3a and part 3b.  In these links Pete (the author) looks at which armies he believes actually stands a good chance of either winning a tournament or coming close to it.  And perhaps more importantly, why he thinks this.  Agree with his assessments?  Let him know your thoughts!

PsychosisPC's The Masdhouse Workshop - Black Orcs
Once more we return to this blog of conversion gold dust.  This unit looks really really great, full of character and bearing the theme well.  Really good stuff, you should check out the rest of the orcs he has done!

Troll Tales - Trolls
A review of the blog's namesake is what this is.  With the new rules we have seen more and more people bringing out models that we rarely used in previous editions.  Troll Tales has taken it upon itself to post a good commentary and thoughts on how the units from new Orc and Goblin book (the focus of this blog) cane be used.

Warpstoned - Plague Furnace
I have included this because not only is it an impressive miniature, a centre piece for the Skaven army but because of a slight deviation from the norm.  This furnace has been painted with flames, rather than a smoke trail.  An interesting change, and it does work quite well.  In fact the painting of the flames adds a lot to the mini.  An interesting change, but looks great still.

Company of the Damned - Wood Elves in 'Ard Boyz
Yes, an Ard Boyz post.  This time it is about showing that even though they are not the best or strongest army out there, the Woodies can still compete.  This review of
